β•β•β•πŸŽ™ CONCERT ANALYSIS

Never had such a good time during the bicentennial celebrations of 1976. The Grateful Dead storm into The Beacon Theatre in New York City for two nights. Then it's a quick jump over the lazy Hudson River to the Capitol Theatre in New Jersey for three more shows.

Can the vibe inside the shows match the outside heat? Well, if it is summertime then the time is indeed right.

Night two at the Beacon and the Grateful Dead are determined to keep the energy flowing. You could ask for more than a monster St. Stephen>NFA>Stella Blue to open the second set. Forty minutes of pure Grateful Dead goodness.

Here's a quote from the podcast:

"Bob, Jerry, and Donna, strident and proud, confident and bold, bestow wreaths of music upon our heads, which we readily accept. Crowned as subjects, we take a moment to genuflect at the feet of our Saint. Are there timing miscues? Does someone come in late, or are the words delivered with honesty and precision?
Yes, they are.
Now we can move on, safe in the knowledge that a king is indeed among us. "

Check it out.
